Creative writing – poems for a purpose

Appeal to people’s emotions and attract attention with a poem as part of your communications.

How I help

A poem could be just the thing that cuts through all the noise, and connects directly with your audience’s emotions.

Since I was small, I’ve written poems and songs. Nowadays my poetry writing is usually confined to writing retreats or poetry projects (with writing training organisation Dark Angels and professional writers’ association 26).

Here are some examples – you can read the poems, and the narratives that accompanied them, on my Creative Writing page.

26 Treasures project

‘Whatever people say I am, I’m not’ … was a poem about one of the oldest maps in the world. It ended up in a book, was translated into Welsh, and myself and the Welsh language poet/translater read both the English and Welsh versions to an invited audience in the V&A.

26 Neurodivergence project

And finally, I once wrote a poem for a marketing campaign and CD for the RSNO.

I’d love to be invited to write a poem for a purpose again.

Could you be my next poetry client?
