“Writing Services is providing us with essential services and invaluable inputs towards creating courses that are of excellent quality, easy to follow and fun to do. The team is flexible and has really tried to think with us since we starting working together in 2019. We consider them a real part of our WASH Systems Academy team.”
Jeske Verhoeven, IRC programme officer, responsible for the management and development of the WASH Systems Academy.
IRC is an international think-and-do-tank, building strong WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) systems. It advocates for a systems approach to solving one of the biggest problems facing the world today. Writing Services has been working with IRC for many years now, mainly editing advocacy documents like annual reports and cases for support.
When it launched its new WASH Systems Academy online training courses in June 2019, they asked us to help with editing the content.
Access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene is essential to improved health, education and livelihoods. Yet around the world, 2.1 billion people lack access to safe water and 4.5 billion people are without safe sanitation. The WASH Systems Academy has been designed to help WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) sector professionals around the world to gain the knowledge and skills they need to address this.
Dyfan leads on this work, and so far he’s edited, proofread and written additional copy for the following Academy courses:
- WASH systems strengthening: the basics
- Building blocks of sustainable WASH systems
- Advocating for universal WASH services
- Fundraising for universal WASH services (not yet live)
- Social Art for Behaviour Change: the basics (not yet live)
- Finance for resilient WASH systems (not yet live)
These free online courses help people to understand the importance of putting strong systems in place to deliver resilient water and sanitation services.
