About
Cedar Care wanted marketing materials to promote its residential and nursing homes, reassuring potential residents and their families of the quality of care that the organisation provides. Their designer, Dispirito Design, originally approached Anita to develop copy for a brochure, leaflets for individual homes and copy for advertisements and banners; and we continued providing project-based support for many years.
How I helped
For the original brochure work, Anita visited the homes to meet and interview residents, staff and management team, and to experience the daily life of the homes. She developed copywriting for a Cedar Care brochure structured around Cedar Care’s ‘caring commitment’; the ‘Cedar Care family’ of staff; a day in the life of a Cedar Care home and a step-by-step guide to moving in. Anita then wrote copy for a feature for BathMagazine, an advert, and a new website.
For our latest commission, Cedar Care needed content for marketing materials (advertorials, brochures, the website, and a guest information booklet) to promote its newest rehabilitation and nursing homes in the leafy Bristol suburb of Westbury-on-Trym. We visited both Oakhill Mansions which provides long-term nursing care for elderly guests; and The Lodge at Oakhill, which offers short-term specialist reablement, rehabilitation in a luxurious hotel-like setting guests who are 45-years-old or older.
Combined with beautiful design from Dispirito and charming photographs from Nanette Hepburn, the organisation now has a brand that sets them apart from other care homes. It conveys the warmth and personality of Cedar Care and its ‘family’.
